KHOJ Pooja Sood | Founding member and Director

Khoj International Artists’ Association began in 1997 as a proposition: a space for artists, run by artists. It is now a  contemporary arts organization located in Khirkee, an urban village in the heart of New Delhi. Since inception, Khoj has connected creative practitioners and catalysed transdisciplinary collaboration and experimentation to create new possibilities of art and art-making. It has also built networks and informed audiences who engage critically with contemporary art in India. As an art space committed to creating cultural shifts and social change through affect-driven creative interventions, Khoj has always played a central role in the development of experimental, transdisciplinary, and critical contemporary practice in India. Khoj continues to support the artistic community at the national and regional levels with a global perspective by providing financial, physical and intellectual space for art-making. Together with st_age we are launching an open call across South Asia for art projects that engage with the idea of air and toxicity: its composition, movement, landscapes and scales of impact; paying special attention to its social connections.
